Simplify map controls #218

Map pan/zoom tools take up a lot of space. Can we just have the two +/- zoom buttons (no pan or world buttons) and tuck them further into the corner?

(In [d24ced8e3289675b1c986fac22ce83fd26961b34]) Partial revert of daefad37b68381c: better (and nicer-looking) way to remove zoom-to-globe button using just CSS. Thanks Frank! Closes #225
