I am not sure if we should show the form when clicking on a thumb up/down or offer an additional link.
I think we should display the feedback form and not jump directly back to the app. Reason being is that this is a user who is making the effort to provide feedback and expects a thank you (or some form of acknowledgement).
And I think these users are also more likely to make a comment than the average user. Personally, I wouldn't click "comment" directly because that sounds like work, but after a quick upvote I might leave a comment.
browser is opened and my flow is "broken" and I am no longer in the app. Especially for non tech user this might be an unpredicted behaviour.
As a user, this would confuse me. I wouldn't know if my vote got counted and I'd click multiple times in hope of some feedback. I wouldn't worry too much about breaking the app flow. It's not a big deal to click the "close" button to get back to the app. Honestly, I'd argue that for non-technical users it's more confusing if the window closes immediately. I might be wrong, though. We could ask around for UX feedback.
