Thanks @semioticrobotic this is great actionable feedback. Let's see if we can find a volunteer to update this!
In the meantime: There are other retro related practices in the library https://openpracticelibrary.com/practice/realtime-retrospective/ https://openpracticelibrary.com/practice/pmi/
And Mary covers them in this podcast episode too https://anchor.fm/openpracticelibrary/episodes/Retrospectives-w-Mary-Provinciatto-eh6acr
Thanks for those links, @kattekrab! I will check them out. In particular, the "realtime retrospective" activity seems to provide the kind of concrete, stepwise process I was expecting to see in the first retrospective practice I found, so I'll begin there.
We have a few different Retro templates in the library - and there are lots of resources available. We've also had debates about where it fits, is it delivery? is it foundation?
So - I'm now wondering if we should run a retro spike - gather all the different retro practices currently in the library, review them, link them, and make sure the main Retrospectives practice has the kind of actionable steps @semioticrobotic was looking for, and with pointers to the other practices and good resources.
It's such an important practice, I reckon it's worth investing time and attention here.
What do others think?
While I'm not an expert on the practice, I'm happy to serve as a reviewer/proofreader of whatever emerges from this work.
I'm attempting to describe the retrospective practice, but the description provided doesn't sufficiently illustrate for me how to conduct the practice. The
How
section of the practice describes materials necessary, tips and tricks for getting it right, issues with remote facilitation, etc., but lacks a clear and stepwise process for facilitating the activity. Such a description would be helpful.
