^ can we put this on the top of the list? If computer is rebooted while GlobalPay is having problems or if the network is just normal down, the POS software won't start. Since restarting the software (ctrl-4) and rebooting the machine (ctrl-alt-del) are part of the clerk/manager troubleshooting regime, this causes us to get into a bad position where in trying to fix a network / credit card processing problem we end up shooting ourselves in the foot and having no POS at all
according to /var/tmp/pos_errors it is trying to hit an api.globalpay.com url and timing out, if you just turn off the network on your lapertoper and try to start the POS you will reproduce it easily
