May take the ontology in the wrong direction. The relationships between person and publication will likely be modeled with the contribution role ontology which includes translator as a possible role in a publication.
Some displays will need to be changed to show translators using community standard approaches.
Provide the ability to record translators of works. Much as we record editors and authors.
