EPIC: Crowdsourced checking of site categories (cf OpenDNS) #30

Idea from Javier: "The automated classification of blocked URLs is a good start, but I think that ideally we would want to crowdsource checking them, possibly with multiple passes. People from OKFN have built Pybossa for this sort of thing http://pybossa.com/"

According to the snapshot http://instagram.com seems to be blocked on BT - seems a bit aggressive!

Also, rather randomly, http://metaldetectingforum.com - I haven't checked the site, maybe they have a 'readers detectors' section, but it look like a genuine site.

http://smogon.com, a site about pokemon, is blocked by talktalk

BT's settings are agressive at the moment. We've set them to "medium". The list of things blocked at that level seems to be comparable to TalkTalk's "KidSafe" mode, which was enabled by default on the TalkTalk line, however perhaps we're being too harsh on BT here. We could relax the settings to "light" if we wanted to.

Unfortunately no filtering was active on the BT line when it was installed so we don't know what their "default" settings are. We didn't get forced to make an "active choice" either!

Information about the filtering settings for all test lines is now on the site FAQ page
