Hi
Before going too much down this road i'd suggest that we do a quick use count for the codes. Having discussed with GP colleagues, I'm not sure that delayed prescriptions are well coded, and instead is more of a counselling thing. Additionally, in more rural areas, rx are likely to be picked up at the time then advised not to take if neccesary.
That's impression I got re:delayed prescriptions from CARG (at least in Cornwall, anyway)
Codes look good to me - we should use this as draft and include anymore if TARGET respond (and offer them credit as part of codelist if they enhance it).
We are looking at the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), in particular what has been the effect of the pandemic on the prescribing of broad spectrum antibiotics to specific demographic and clinical sub-groups within the population.
In recent years AMS activity has focused on increasing the use of “delayed prescriptions” or "the back-up prescription" where appropriate. Using the TARGET antibiotic toolkit guide to resources (available at the bottom of here we can infer three possible SNOMED codes for this. I have also emailed to ask if they can supply the most up-to-date SNOMED codes which they recommend to use. If anyone knows of any in the meantime, please share.
A draft codelist for delayed prescriptions for antibiotics exists here: https://www.opencodelists.org/builder/2c778793/
