We will create a codelist for ascitic drainage. Regular ascitic drainage is a contraindication of Paxlovid for non-hospitalised COVID-19 patients.

Description User Requirements This codelist aims to identify any ascitic drain procedure or code that indicate that an ascitic drainage procedure has taken place.

Methodology Search Terms: ascites / ascitic / abdominal paracentesis

Inclusion Criteria for Codes Ascitic drain procedure (for example, ascitic tap) or observation (for example, organisms found in ascitic fluid)

Exclusion Criteria for Codes Codes that refer to ascites alone and not drainage
