Aramaic determined case #7

Closed peterdanielmyers closed 10 years ago

peterdanielmyers commented 10 years ago

Technically speaking the א sometimes found on the end of an Aramaic noun is not the definite article, but a suffix marker of the determined case.

In many places it's marked off separately like pronominal suffixes are. In these cases I've tagged it as Td as well as marking the noun itself as determined. But we might want to find a more accurate way of expressing it.

Ha! Well, David Instone-Brewer and I just had a discussion about this. He sees the א as the article. Rosenthal also refers to it in this way (§41), so I'll defer to him!
