5 months ago In this contextual experience, would it make sense to remove the "selectable" column? I think it would feel weird to expand documents at this level, and I would rather not add to that complexity here. I do think we should also consider the rest of the "inspect" contents, but this is a great start
Overview
The following proposal aims to show an experience where Discover or parts of it are made available to users contextually throughout OpenSearch Dashboards to support use cases that require light exploration or additional context that Discover can provide. There can be many ways to show Discover contextually and the following proposal only shows a framework implementation and a single use case possibility.
Contextual Discover
Through research we have uncovered that users start with a light exploration at an occurrence or trigger in Observability use cases. In these use cases a light exploration at the context (think an alert on a Dashboard a user is monitoring) is incredible valuable so they can understand if a detailed exploration is needed, how to explore, and how to triage.
