Research e-filing #21

We could research the feasibility of automating the e-filing of completed paperwork in various jurisdictions, beginning with King County (https://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/clerk/documents/file.aspx).

This might be challenging without enlisting support from the county. The current protocols are involved --

new cases: https://www.kingcounty.gov/~/media/courts/Clerk/docs/misc/eStartNewCaseGuide.ashx?la=en

existing cases: https://www.kingcounty.gov/~/media/courts/Clerk/docs/misc/eFileIntoExistingCaseGuide.ashx?la=en

Additionally King County has a mandate that suggests filing must occur through their system:

Mandatory Electronic Filing. Attorneys shall electronically file (e-file) all documents using the Clerk’s online eFiling application unless this rule provides otherwise

Rule 4A https://kingcounty.gov/courts/clerk/rules/LGR_30.aspx

Interestingly, this also means that we could explore helping non-attorneys file in-person for their own vacation in simple cases at least.
