This PR has been included in build cluster-node-tuning-operator-container-v4.17.0-202406061212.p0.g6d2e11a.assembly.stream.el9 for distgit cluster-node-tuning-operator. All builds following this will include this PR.
The PR #1019 includes a fair bit of cleanup and preparation code which may merge independently because these improvements are liked anyway, and doing so would simplify the review and finalization of #1019 itself.
