Filter By Creator and Assignee issue #3693

Open Raunak1203 opened 6 years ago

Raunak1203 commented 6 years ago

Steps:

Problem Statement - If i want to filter the result by Assignee or creator, i have to remember the OSIO UserID of collaborator.

rgarg1 commented 6 years ago

I'd rather like to see a mix of both User-Name and User-ID in all user lists. E.g. Ruchir Garg (rgarg-1)

There could be multiple users with same or similar names and that may cause confusion. Also, a user may have multiple accounts (like a primary and a test account) and then both names show up in the list, leaving the users confused which one to pick. Showing only user-IDs is a complete no-no.

@qodfathr to decide.

These changes need to reflect in the following lists that I'm aware of:

@raunak the UX solution has been provided. Removing area/UX from this issue.

@openshiftio/uxd-team Can you take one more look at this design. I think they should use the same dropdown not just the same format of data.

@Joshua could you elaborate a bit on 'same dropdown' and 'format of data'? Would help in understanding the problem better

joshuawilson commented 5 years ago

I would want one design that looks at the same data. It should display the same way and filter the same way. In fact it should be the same dropdown code shared everywhere we need a dropdown.

@christianvogt Is there something in PF that we should use or do we need to standardize ours?

christianvogt commented 5 years ago

@joshuawilson pf3 does have a drop down / search menu that does fit with the filter but I do not see any component that meets the needs of the assignee dropdown. For now aligning the content for functionality will be sufficient. We need to revisit these components in the future as neither work well without a mouse.

@christianvogt @joshuawilson let's cover this in our Stakeholder review tomorrow!

joshuawilson commented 5 years ago

We need to bring this back to the initial issue.

The filter displays username instead of "real name".

Based on a conversation held on 2019-Jan-04 including Dev, PM and UX, the UX team will not be providing support for planner items. Removing the team/ux label and un-assigning UX folks. If priorities are changed in the future, please add the team/ux label
