setting temporal range and smoothing option causes synchronization errors

• when adjusting time range on analyze, smoothing clears in certain cases (synchronization issues)
• resetting smoothing and transformation options doesn't make it clear that options have been reset (e.g. update button stays disabled, not obvious that smoothing or transformation has been unselected)
• convert mean, median, stddev values from scientific notation to standard form
