Which departments spent the most on mobile
Which US cities have gone bankrupt in the last year
Which UK local councils have the biggest deficits

Create an R-script that can analyse transactional spending datasets from various countries (by using UK spending data: openspending.org/ukgov-25k-spending as a template):

What department spend the biggest share of their total spend on top 10 contractors
What supplier have grown their revenue on government most since 2007?
What supplier earned revenue across the most difference departments?

+1 note that we have an R import script for importing data packages, see http://data.okfn.org/tools

I note that ukgov-25k-spending is bad as so massive
