There are two communication modes for the Wave over USB:
If you look at the Wave manual, page 59 details modifying the USB Communication Option.
Hope this helps!
It looks like the version of Plover he's using is the last official release ... so perhaps he might have better luck with the new weekly:
@morinted First, thanks for the response. Second, when you say if I have the USB plugin, where can I get the USB plugin? Again I'm on a Mac so the drivers on stenograph.com don't work because they're Windows only.
@gdwaynewarner I've installed the newest version of Plover but I'm still having the same issue, I'm attaching a screenshot of the error I get.
On the new version of Plover, the "Plugins Manager" will let you download the Stenograph USB plugin. Then, restart Plover and it should be an option as a machine protocol.
Separately, when using Stentura with Mira Emulation, you should configure it through the Configuration >> Machine window in order to Scan and select Ports.

Hi again,
I believe the latest update of the Stenograph USB protocol should support your machine.
It should work, please let me know if you run into issues!

How in the world do I download the latest version? I am on a Mac running High Sierra and for the life of me I cannot figure out which one to run, and how.
We had the same problem and fixed it by bgetting a PC. 😬

Got it figured out, thank you!!
@ashrosed36 I am trying to set up a wave to my macbook, how did you get plover to recognize the usb drivers?
Unfortunately, after scouring the internet, and a lot of false hope I ultimately discovered it couldn’t be done with a Mac. Instead I bought a cheap Dell and used that. Good luck, sorry.

From the comment right above it should be possible... try following the instruction (download the dmg, install it, install the plugin mentioned)
@githotsko let us know if you need assistance, we've definitely had Waves working over USB on Mac 👍
Thank you, that’s amazing. In 2018 I couldn’t figure it out.

Summary
I recently purchased a Wave stenograph machine and have it hooked to my iMac with the included usb cable. Once I open Plover I get an error no matter what configuration I try, the fail is for serial port connection (errno 2). I've downloaded and installed Homebrew as well as libusb and restarted the computer but still can't see the machine in Plover. When I run a system report for OS X I can see the wave machine under the usb tab, so the computer knows it's there. What else can I do for this issue?
Reproducing
Stenograph Wave connected via USB cable
Plover Version
3.1.1
System
Mac OS X 10.12.3 I'll be updating to 10.13 tonight and trying again.
