Right now, when the user clicks links in the web pane, they are loaded inline. This presents a challenge because you don't have visibility to the URL, nor the ability to go forward and back, nor the ability to download files. The plugin installation buttons obviously don't update when you change pages, too.
If the links all opened externally in the user's browser, the experience would be much less confusing.
