Allow OSM map notes text to be selectable #8136

I realize this is not critical, and is more of a "would be nice to have", as map notes are selectable for copying in OSM itself. The aim is to allow selection of text in the left pane for insertion into a translator app. 2020-10-29

Hi and welcome, @GregRetro.

I can't reproduce this issue in Firefox or Chrome on macOS… What browser and system are you using? Does the problem occur when you first launch iD or only later on?

This and #8138 might be the same issue.

Apologies for not following the most basic bug reporting guidelines... Running Win10Pro-x64, Chrome 86.0.4240.111. Cannot get it to repro on Edge, and I've only just now noticed that it does not repro on new iD sessions in Chrome.

I agree that this is the same issue as #8138 - on iD sessions where I can't select map notes text, I also cannot select any text not in an editable field in either the left or right panes.

Yeah - not the same issue. I jumped the gun on that - sorry.

This issue is (still) present on iD 2.30.4-release with Chrome 130.0.6723.69 on Windows 10.
