Provide the URL to the parasoid API of OpenStreetMap Wiki.

In ticket https://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/5355 the parasoid API was enabled to allow the Kiwix team the creation of an offline version of the Wiki.

The Kiwix team is still missing the URL to the parasoid API (https://sourceforge.net/p/kiwix/feature-requests/922/). Please provide it.

Is it not in the standard location, whatever that is? As far as I know all we did was turn it on, we didn't customise it in any way.

I also assumed the same and tried to verified it as described at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid/Troubleshooting:

Is your parsoid even working and "serving"? Check in your browser:
yourDomain:8000/_wikitext/

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org:8000/_wikitext and http://wiki.openstreetmap.org:8000/_wikitext don't return anything.

Port 8000 at wiki.openstreetmap.org seems not to be open:

Nmap scan report for wiki.openstreetmap.org (193.63.75.106)
Host is up (0.33s latency).
rDNS record for 193.63.75.106: ouroboros.osm.ichosted.org.uk
PORT STATE SERVICE
8000/tcp filtered http-alt

So actually 8142 is the default, 8000 is for developer installs (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid/Troubleshooting).

But that port is currently firewalled. Apparently Firefishy thought it could be accessed via mediawiki when he closed the previous ticket, and we're currently discussing whether it's safe to allow direct access...

Hello,

is there any progress on this?

When I'm in foreign countries I often don't have internet on my phone but I create POIs with OSMand+. I often don't know what would be good tags for a specific POI.

If the wiki could be exportes as .zim file it would allow to use the tag informations as reference offline on smartphones.
