Hi, could I take on this issue? I would like to setup a GitHub Action for thanking contributors to the repo.

Yes of course, I don't have particular ideas on what is the best way to track user contributions, and anything is welcome !

I would like to add this contribute list GitHub Action to the workflow for either push and/or pull request to the repo. Any ideas on which would be preferrable?

I also do not have the appropriate permissions to do this yet.

I think we can do only Pull_Request as it's unlikely to have a new contributor by direct push.

I miss some permission on the repo as well, I'll try to get them
