From Mike Tigas at Propublica (Mike.Tigas@propublica.org):

"Hey Georgia & gang!

OK, so I dug into this a little bit.

When we started Nonprofit Explorer in 2013 we used whatever fields the IRS were publishing at the time (in the filing data and organization profile data). We've done annual updates to keep up with those datasets, but it looks like we've only imported fields that we were importing in 2013 (for FY2012 filings) and haven't been adding new fields that they were including in later years. And looks like the "noemplyeesw3cnt" (and similar) fields from the source data weren't added in until FY2013 filings or later.

So that data isn’t in our app or our API, unfortunately. But yeah, the source data is totally machine-readable and not too bad to work with, so you could possibly get what you need from there.

Maybe not the answer you were looking for, but hope that helps a little bit!"
