Fix command line handling and exit status #13

Adds --version option. Makes server return 1 on failures.

There are tests added to CMakeList.txt to check for some of these changes.

I don't know whether the branch is not merged because there is noone to do it or there are some reservations about the code. I ask for feedback just in case, as there is some more code that I would like to base on this.
