Thx for supplying these configurations.
It would be a great thing to have some working xml configuration files for a number of devices. But I think they should live in another repository to separate configuration from sourcecode.
I suggest you start a config-file-only vcontrold-config repository with directory for each device named in a consistent scheme (like _deviceid_deviceidexthumanreadableshortname). This would make it easy for other users to find info, extend configs (forking, pull requests, ...),. without interfering with vcontrold source code.
Good idea. will start a repo soonish.Would be great if you can link then this repository in your README.md. Will send you a PR.

I think it could be very helpful, especially vor beginners, if the could reuse pre-configured vito.xml and vcontrold.xml configuration for their controllers. They should be sorted by the viessmann device id. I know that the wiki provides a lot of informations and a detailed address table but starting to collect configuration templates would lower the bar for beginners.
