Remove versioneer #103

@julia326 convinced me that versioneer is actually more complicated than it's worth. Appreciate the contribution that added this though, and apologies for having that ticket open despite our intentions.

Coverage increased (+4.4%) to 75.224% when pulling 4ebcc2ff24da9cac045b7eab19ff39985b011a86 on remove-versioneer into 8acffa84275b40e7c57654788fbdc5ef7c8f1eb1 on master.
