With OSX10.11.6 / O3 v1.6.1-1 After some time of RAM pressure due to intensive zfs receive of formerly backed-up pools, my MacPro 4,1 (5,1 microcode) almost stalled after having exhausted 16GB RAM. (got the OS X Alert popup message).

I did tried to quit some apps, but did not helped, OSX could not quit the (red) marked apps. so big button switch ...

2 zpools of 16TB (14.5 TB netto) each.

NAME SIZE ALLOC FREE EXPANDSZ FRAG CAP DEDUP HEALTH ALTROOT
Bay 14,5T 8,25T 6,25T - 30% 56% 1.00x ONLINE -
LaCie 14,5T 4,78T 9,72T - 22% 32% 1.00x ONLINE -

Note: Did not tried yet some tuning on kstat.zfs.darwin.tunable.zfs_arc_max as seen at https://openzfsonosx.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2838

Any advice ?

On normal operations on files on ZFS pools, I see kernel's memory going up, and after a while going down (effective memory release from zfs).
