Just want to reiterate the discussions that lead upto this issue being created https://github.com/redhat-openshift-ecosystem/community-operators-prod/issues/793 :

Our goal with fbc is declarative catalogs metadata
Current opm index operations are imperative, and not something we want to port over to fbc
However, there are current users/pipelines that depend on the imperative commands, so during the migration phase, we need to help them recreate imperative operations on fbc
BUT, we don't want to officially adopt imperative operations for fbc, so that we don't loose the vision of eventual declarativity with fbc

As a result, I don't think adding pruning instructions the imperative way to our documentation is a good idea. That's the entire reason this issue was created, instead of including the content in the doc site in the first place. I believe the existence of that issue is good enough for now.
