opm version in quay.io/operator-framework/upstream-opm-builder unknown #403

If I run opm version from inside the upstream-opm-builder container, it reports that it doesn't know its version. 

docker run --rm -it quay.io/operator-framework/upstream-opm-builder
/ # opm version
Version: version.Version{OpmVersion:"unknown", GitCommit:"", BuildDate:"", GoOs:"linux", GoArch:"amd64"}
