OT: Does a wirelessaccesspoint host run at all w/o a bootserver? I think it needs the wlancontroller, which is on the bootserver....

You are absolutely right! I did not mention all the essential information. We're using wirelessaccesspoint host type for our digital signage system installations (infotv tag). So it can be used without a bootserver, but not as a wifi access point.
There are some DNS issues with wirelessaccesspoint host type
For example images.opinsys.fi is not resolvable without a bootserver. Dnsmasq is not used on these hosts, so dbus-dnsmasq-integration is not usable by default.
