@fabianfrz why bug, Server= seems to be defined oO
@fichtner the ticket says won't start (=blocker) which is in my opinion a bug.
Sorry that I am replying that late, but I some hours ago I thought about 'hey lets check the GUI' and thus edited the settings in the GUI and the deamon starts and my zabbix-server can establish a connection. But why is the command on the CLI not working, but the one on the GUI does work. I thought its somewhat envoking the same commandline parameters.
@MAGICCC The GUI elements do prepare the configuration files and set up the service correctly (like file permissions, create files and directories, ...)
The usual way is to create the configuration files, invoke a setup script and then start the service the usual way.
@MAGICCC In general the plugins.git is for GUI operation, if we need to fix zabbix-agent package rc scripts https://bugs.freebsd.org is better. User interaction on the console + GUI operation is hard to enforce in any case :)
PS: if you don't want the GUI plugin you can skip that and use the package as is and there will be no meddling with your config files:
# pkg remove os-zabbix-agent
# pkg add zabbix34-agent
If you feel the plugin lacks in certain aspects, just open a feature ticket instead and we'll patch it in given time and testing. :)
Nah it's fine. Thanks for the description of GUI vs manual installation :)
ok thanks :)
