Is it font big enough? Maybe we should maintain a version that's about as big as GohuFont 14?

Ive been using it for ~ two days. It's a bit on the small side, definately, but I've gotten used to it

ghost commented 6 years ago

I'd say it's pretty good. Just waiting for it to become a full fledged upscaled scientifica. (i.e. all the icons and ligatures)

oppiliappan commented 6 years ago

@Cakedy ligatures have been added. It should work fine with the ligature plugins from scientifica.

I feel the digits could be improved.
If the size is fine with you guys, I will go ahead with the development of this font.
I need some inputs for the bold version. Go with bold or small caps like scientifica?

topisani commented 6 years ago

I think i prefer the smallcaps, bold fonts of this size allways seem crammed

topisani commented 6 years ago

regarding the numbers, i think they got kinda generic with the new update. Maybe it's just the size, maybe it's the style.

Other than that, personally i vastly prefer dotted zeros to slashed zeros, also because I'm danish, and sometimes use the Ø character, but mainly just because i think it looks nicer

Just jumping in to say that I really like the italic cursive version of scientifica, and seeing that in curie would be wonderful.

oppiliappan commented 6 years ago

@kepoorhampond if you are talking about the cursive variant, its coming soon :^)

tpict commented 6 years ago

good quality italic & bold variants are pretty uncommon among monospace bitmap fonts in my experience, and i love the styling of both Scientifica and Curie, but they're a bit too small for my eyes. something a hair larger in the same vein would be amazing!

oppiliappan commented 6 years ago

@tpict i have stopped development of both fonts, but if you want something larger, please check the doubled variants out.
