No Search Dialogue Box #672

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hit search in menu option or hit Ctl K
2. No search dialogue is visible.
3. Type string anyway, Keepnote searches properly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see a dialogue box in which to enter my search term. And I expect
to see what I'm typing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.7.8 on Ubuntu Studio 13.xx

Please provide any additional information below.

The search box is there, it just isn't displaying properly in Ubuntu. (It's off
the screen.) If you, or anyone else reading this, are still having the problem,
try changing this setting: Edit > Preferences > Look and Feel > (checkmark)
"Use Minimal Toolbar"

After you hit "Apply" and "OK", the search box should appear to you.

The same solution works for Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon. I think only the text
justification icons drop off the tool bar with the "Use Minimal Toolbar" option
invoked, so if you don't use those often, it should be a good workaround. (All
of the format options are still available under the Format menu, of course.)
