Typing into Expression Search Often Drops Characters or Insertion Point Shifts #111

Very often, when I type into the Expression Search box, characters that I type are dropped and the next character either overwrites the previous one, or sometimes the insertion point moves to the end.

This has been an issue through a number of updates, though I don’t think that it was a problem when I first started reusing Thunderbird with v115.

I’m pretty sure that this is due to overactivity from the automatically shifting results in the message list. If it is not possible to optimize the code so that this is not an issue, it would be good to have an option where the list is not updated until Return or Enter is typed.

I have the same issue. Windows 10 Pro, 115.11.0 (32-bit). plugin version -- latest as of today, (v4.0.23)

Same problem with BB 115.12 under W10 1809 LTSC. After 1st condition is entered in expression search box subsequent text input is deleted cyclic back to the old cursor position at the end of the first condition. It happens as long as the search is ongoing. In my folder are ~20.000 mails to search for. That needs a while until one can enter a 2nd, 3rd, ... search condition. So the search is not more smooth as known from my long time used TB 60 + old expression search extension. There one could enter expressions without any deletions of the entered text.
