Add-on is missing after TB restarts #58

Hello, I have the latest TB version, 102.4.1 (64-bit) and Expression Search-NG version 3.6.3 on a Windows 10 pro laptop. When I install Expression Search-NG, everything works fine. After restarting TB, the add-on seems installed in Add-ons Manager, but I can't see the expression bar (I see only the TB quick filter bar) and the magnifier button (settings button at bottom right - status bar) is missing. If I disable and enable the add-on again, nothing happens. Also, the settings button (wrench tool icon) in Add-ons Manager is missing. The only way to enable it is to disable the ES-NG add-on, close TB, run TB and enable ES-NG again. BW, thanks for this great add-on and your support.

Same here on Ubuntu and TB 102.4.2

Hello team, I thought if the above issue is caused by Windows. So, I turned off the 'fast start-up' but the issue is still presented. Windows 10 Pro, version: 21H2, TB: 102.6.0, ES-NG: 3.6.3

Slightly different behaviour here. I have been using this addon for months and I immediately noticed it often failed to load with Thunderbird or (and this is the weird thing) unloaded during a session. I just leave it alone and next time I restart Thunderbird it loads (or, again, fails to load). It is very annoying because I realise something is wrong when I press a key combination several times and nothing happens thinking the keyboard is not working. This makes the addon unreliable.

I am also experiencing this (Thunderbird 102.6.1 under Windows 10). It seems to be, that most GUI items are not available with disfunction. In the settings, I deactivated "hide normal filter", but left the settings tab open. After restarting a few times (interestingly it is not every restart), many GUI elements are not available any more:

Interestingly, a simple restart of Thunderbird (still Thunderbird 102.6.1 under Windows 10) can occasionally also bring back the GUI elements of the add-on. I did not experiment yet on any statistics...

Hello to all,

Please provide console log errors output to help debugging (CTRL+SHIFT+J in Thunderbird window), stripping away personal identifiers out of it.

Would you have set Thunderbird in some way that a prompt box or alert box gets displayed at every launch ? You may want to check the fix proposed in #66
