I upgraded from 68 to 102.0.0, removed nostalgy and installed nostalgy++. (On macOS 12.4 21F79 arm64, running TB in Rosetta.)

Unfortunately, none of the changes I make in the extension's configuration are saved. I originally encountered this with shortcuts (I use N for next unread) but I tested it with a toggle that is available in the config editor.

In the GUI, if I toggle off "use mouse gestures" close and return, it's back on. If I look in the config editor, nothing has changed. However, if I manually change it to "false" in the config editor, the UI does show the box untoggled. So reads seem to work, but not writes/saves.

BTW: As a temporary hack, what keys in the config editor would I create to "Create new rule" and "Convert to new rule" to ctrl+n and ctrl+e respectively?

BTW: I installed 3.6.1 and still have this problem.

thanks, I will first test in my win 11 to see whether that is ok.

If everyone had this problem, I imagine others would be complaining too, so my situation might be relatively rare. Let me know if I can capture any diagnostics to grab and share.

opto commented 1 year ago

it is working in 102.3.0 with the current version on ATN. I am on win 11 64 bit.

Just in case, please restart TB. How about at your end?

Here's a video clip of me setting two keys to require ctrl, of switching to a different config tab and back and the changes are still there, closing the config, returning, and the changes are gone.

I am having the same problem on xubuntu 22.04

I can confirm the issue (also detected on trying to change the N binding used by me for "next unread") on Linux Mint 21 (based on Ubuntu 22.04).

Thunderbird 102.2.2

Same issue on Windows 7, Thunderbird 102.5.0 and Nostalgy++ 3.6.13 (42c9817).

jendrikseipp commented 1 year ago

I experience the same issue on Ubuntu 22.04, Thunderbird 102.4.2 and Nostalgy++ 3.6.11.

sebix commented 1 year ago

I confirm the same issue on openSUSE Tumbleweed, Thunderbird 102.10.1 and Nostalgy 3.6.1

Maybe this could help:

You must click on OK to save the settings... but it does not always appear by default! I had to pull the bottom line to discover the OK button (bottom right):

My configuration: fresh brand new install of TH 102 on Debian 12, nostalgy++ 3.6.8 (installed from TH extensions, not xpi).

I recently installed Nostalgy++. Wow, I just spent an hour troubleshooting this issue & searching through the Issues feed. Thanks @Krysztophe for posting that!

So is there any way to get Nostaly++ to remember the Preferences window size so I don't have to adjust the window every time? (version 3.6.18, TB 102.14, Linux Mint)
