chrome extension can't find chromecast after restart

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. connect to custom receiver app in chrome via extension
2. restart chromecast via chromecast app or disconnect power cord shortly
3. try to reconnect to the chromecast in the same tab after chromecast has 
booted again

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
after chromecast has restarted, it's not possible anymore to connect to it 
again in chrome in the same tab. this doesn't happen when mirroring the tab 
content but it happens when it was connected to a custom receiver

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
newest, os x 10.9.3

Please provide any additional information below.
I need to restart the chrome browser to connect to the same custom receiver 
again on the same website.

I think the issue is that the url of the website which uses the cast api is 
somehow connected to the cast extension and thus it can't figure out new 
receivers

With the current extension, it should be possible to detect the device after 
~60 seconds. However, there is an initial connection failure which we are aware 
of.
