This PR changes the some of the code and configs to make tests run for the replication concurrency PR in https://github.com/orbitdb/orbit-db/pull/929.

This is very much WIP and I'll need to verify, once tests pass in https://github.com/orbitdb/orbit-db/pull/929, that these changes are all needed (if any).

I don't think any of these changes are needed. Will re-open if there's a need.
