Currently there are a few hard-coded reference to 'SeaStats' in the code, but anything user-facing can be overridden via configuration, including any mention of hydrophones. So it should be pretty easy to adapt this dashboard for other uses. Even potentially outside of bioacoustics.
I would suggest we keep the current repo but start the ReadMe with something like:
Encompasses an API for storing and retrieving bioacoustic data, and an embeddable interactive dashboard for visualising that data. This project has initially been developed with a focus on whale detections (gleaned from hydrophone audio recordings), but has been designed to be easily adapted for other uses.
I like that approach and initial README title/text a lot, @jonom ! I'll point Ben @ben-hendricks here to see if he concurs...
It's probably good to keep repo named generically as
bioacoustic-dashboard
(or we could fork into aseastats
one...), but after the workshop and name brainstorming, maybe we should title the README and revise the README text with the termSeaStats
(branded however Ben prefers).
