@scottveirs regarding the tracking suffix, I can do that but are you sure you want it in that format? That is a url param with no value currently. A more standard format would be ?utm_source=whalesound
, but analytics packages can typically tell you the referrer of any website traffic without additional tracking parameters. For example if I follow a link from SeaStats on Whalesound to orcasound.net and then inspect document.referrer
on your website, I can see that the visit came from WhaleSound:
Have removed the padding around the link and corrected attribution locally (not shipped yet):

Thanks! I had to learn a bit more about GA4 to find it, but yes I now view what I was hoping for (and look forward to seeing the stats trend upward over time!) --

Okay, @jonom ! Once you've verified the change is deployed and the link works, fine with me if you close this issue!
Issue:
I noticed a (very minor!) issue with the attribution of Orcasound, at least in the modal presentation of the SeaStats overview for the East Point node of the whalesound.ca interactive map. The mention of Orcasound uses the "old" spelling, with a capital
S
(i.e.OrcaSound
). Here is a screenshot with the issue highlighted in light blue:Proposed solution:
Ideally, the attribution would heed the Orcasound branding guide by changing the hypertext link from
OrcaSound
toOrcasound
Bonus edits would include:
