Light edits #37

Light edits, including fixing typos, adding missing words, uniformizing capitalization, and rewriting unclear passages.

I made no attempt to be comprehensive—I concentrated on editing the portions of the document that were of particular interest to me, and I concentrated on issues I found distracting (inconsistent capitalization of GitHub, for example) and on syntactical and grammatical quirks that I felt impeded comprehension. In some cases, larger-scale revisions might be more appropriate: Some of the comments following the sample code in section 4.1, for example, seem as though they may have been written to pertain to an earlier version of the code. In this case, I did only a minimal bit of patching-up to make the comments make sense in context. I didn't want to get into the business of guessing at the intended logic of the sequence of presentation.
