Adding dikes - location/elevation #34

We can easily add dike & levee locations, but tell me more about what you want about elevation data. We do not currently have elevations for our dikes/levee lines

For locations, would that be points, or maybe lines? I was thinking we might have elevation data for the dikes - so we don't have elevations for dike lines, but maybe for an individual point? Either way, I think it would be good to be able to see where dikes are. Even if we don't have elevation, its informative to know their location

For dikes/levess we need to do a little work to update our layer to account for several dikes that have been removed since the layer was created. Once we've done that work, we can add the levee lines.

I will check with Randy about the possibility of creating a "low points" layer for the remaining levees, so that we could depict elevation if we still want to. However, this should really be a standalone issue.

Sounds good. We've got some time before bringing these maps to folks for the workshops in Feb/Mar. I've got some historical dike maps from CREST around Astoria area. I don't think there is any elevation, but if it's helpful I'd be happy to look them over with you to pull data.

You could probably browse the existing levee line layer we have and compare it to your maps from crest to see if they are already captured. I'll circle back with you on the best way for you to do that after the planners meeting.
