Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently there is no mechanism for logging and reporting errors or other misc debug info for development and troubleshooting purposes.

Describe the solution you'd like Create a standardized way of generating logs in a place such as /var/log instead of as on-display debug info.

Preferably using the logging python module.
