Topo ruler (not considering geographical or administrative borders) #7724

I need a way to misure straight distance from A to B in the map.

What is the geographical distance from Kittilä to Kovdor?

Did you try to press the top right icon with connected dots to measure the distance?

You can also see a direct distance from you to any selected object in the information Place Page.

I came from "car" routing. But I also selected/unselected several buttons like bike, pedestrian, etc. also route options (avoid...).

Ruler icon misunderstood with share icon. My humble opinion. For this reason I didn't see it before.

Yeap. The line on the icon should end in an arrow, then it'll be more recognizable.

That is why I initially wanted to have a helicopter icon.

For now its a ruler indeed, but there is a plan to make a straight line navigation out of it.

I think we’re putting two different things together. What you’re proposing is useful to people who actually move in helicopter.

Might as well add a new mode of transportation.

Main purpose of ruler is doing a measurement (A --> B).
