From a glance the implementation seems correct.

I'd prefer not to change the kii branch parser currently because the breaking-changes branch has major changes to the parser implementation, so the files on kii are somewhat obsolete.

Would it be fine to postpone this until a point in time where kii includes the changes from breaking-changes?
