Cannot set a mandatory nullable field to null #550

When I leave the alias field empty or put in null or NULL literal string 'null' is added to the database. So, my question is, is it at all possible to set alias field to null in Studio New Record form?

Willing to make a PR if I am pointed in the right direction.
