The database size limit will very by how much memory your phone has. The .kdbx
file is stored compressed, but KeePassDroid will uncompress it in memory. So,
it may require more memory than the file size may indicate.

I have the same problem too. My HTC Desire phone should have enough RAM (768
MB) to open a 6 MB database. Systems information is confirming that I do have
plenty of RAM available. On the test that I have done the difference in size
of the compressed and uncompressed database is negligible. I can view 1GB
movie files on my phone so I don't get it.

Same problem with HTC Legend (RAM 74MB/292MB used) and 3.2(!) MB kbdx file!
Problem possibly came up after adding scanned files in keepass PC. But persists
after deleting and reorganizing DB. The DB works on PC without any problems.
I'm not able any more to load the DB on the phone don't matter what I do...
