There are existing workarounds - you can use an FTP client to grab the
database, for instance - but usability would be greatly improved by allowing
the program to grab the database.
Although, I do see a potential flaw with fixing this - right now, IIRC,
KeePassDroid doesn't require network access permissions currently, meaning that
users can trust it to not send passwords out over the network behind their
back. If it's fixed, then the network access permissions are required, which
means that users don't have that automatic trust.

i totally agree with ilan, using dropbox or sugarsync just to get keepass work
is frustrating!

This is the one thing that keeps me from being able to use keepass as I would
like. The blackberry client is able to grab the file via FTP. It would be
awesome if the same was possible with the android app. Dropbox is not so
reliable. If the added security requirement of network access is what is
preventing this feature, why not release 2 versions of the app--one that
requires network access for FTP and one that doesn't?

I would also like to be able to use my FTP database without jumping through
extra hoops.
Thanks.

I totally agree. This is an asymmetry that should be corrected.
