django-messages fails with django>1.8

django-messages is a bit broken, I suggest we:

• [x] fork it here
• [ ] get setup.py to use our version
• [ ] merge in other people's fixes after reveiwing them.
• [ ] remove the need for pip unzip django_messages in k666.env
• [ ] get setup.py to use the latest version of django
• [ ] close this issue!
