Poor multi monitor support #4

I have 3 monitors at my workstation (one MBP retina with two chained thunderbolt displays), and I've experienced the following issues when trying to record gifs on them:

I think the best solution to most of these would be for the framing tool to work across all monitors and desktops, whichever you end up clicking and dragging on is the one that will be recorded.

I know this sounded like a lot of complaints but Capture Gif is still the simplest and best gif screen recorder I've used, thanks for your hard work!

@james-wills thanks for your detailed bug report, I will try to figure out how to solve them one by one this Saturday, since I can only have my external display at that time.

orklann commented 7 years ago

btw, what version of Capture Gif did you used?

orklann commented 7 years ago

@james-wills

you said

only one thunderbolt display is shown on Select Display dropdown even though there are two connected

And I guess if one of your thunderbolt display is set as a mirror of the other display? so that Capture Gif just detected one of them.

@james-wills

I releases Capture Gif v1.4.4. Download here

I think some issues you mentioned has been fixed, and some I can not reproduce and maybe has fixed due to the API changes on Seirra (some issues do not appear before Seirra)

Thanks for your detailed bug reports, please just try the new version v1.4.4, and see if there are some major issues still not fixed.

@aaron-elkins hey, thanks for sending out an update, I'll try it out this week.

In case you're still interested, I was running 1.4.3, none of my monitors were mirrored, and I'm running El Capitan.

@james-wills thank you for testing.
