Letters missing when printing Arimo font through Chrome browser on Windows #184

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load a webpage using the Arimo font in the Chrome browser under Windows XP.
2. Print the page, using Chrome's built-in print engine.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Both in Chrome's print preview and in the printed output, seemingly random
letters are missing throughout the page. See attached screenshot for an example.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome version 23.0.1271.95 m
Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

Please provide any additional information below.
This issue only appears to happen in Chrome, only under Windows (Mac is fine)
and only when using Chrome's built in print dialog. If I use the system print
dialog instead, there is no problem.

When I changed my website's font to Arial, the printing worked as expected.
Changing it back to Arimo triggered the issue again, thus confirming the
problem is font-specific in nature.

I am not using the webfont loader script. I have the following code inserted
into the <head> section of my page template:
<link
href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Arimo:regular,italic,bold,bolditali
c' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
