Open devtools and set it up for modding. Should this guide contain any code or not? Should there be a CSS version and a JS version? Do you want to help make this guide?

Open devtools

That could be separate, depending on how long it would get.

Should this guide contain any code or not?

Just what’s needed to show the important features.

Should there be a CSS version and a JS version?

Those could be naturally separated under headings.

This is now the big one that needs to be done, so that we can start working on FIrst CSS mod and First JS mod. Maybe we could merge in a "draft version"?

code3z commented 3 years ago

Or maybe we should just add this link for now - is that alright? https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/16684/inspecting-the-vivaldi-ui-with-devtools?page=1

I don’t think we should skip such important guides & put in links instead of them.

code3z commented 3 years ago

Ok.

I do question how much value we can provide by essentially saying the same things. I think the value in this guide is going to come in when we write the next guides that will go beyond the pinned topics on the forum. What about asking luetage if we can copy some or all of that post (giving credit to him as the author of course), and then working from there?

ghost commented 3 years ago

Ehh, why not. Would you mind, @luetage?

luetage commented 3 years ago

I can make a pull request for it myself when the time comes.

code3z commented 3 years ago

@luetage Thanks! The time has come, like, now. But if you’re busy, that’s fine.

luetage commented 3 years ago

I'm on mobile right now and have to do VFM stuff anyway. I don't think that's too pressing atm, since its available to the community.

code3z commented 3 years ago

Yeah, no worries.

Since it’s available we can make the next guides assuming that the user knows everything in the post, but no more.

Sorry for accidentally closing this. Assign luetage?
